System-Wide Prosperity
Prosperity measured beyond nominal output.
Research: Under active modeling or analysis. Conclusions are provisional.
Nominal output counts activity. It does not distinguish between activity that expands a society's capability and activity that merely churns.
Working definition
System-wide prosperity is the measured capability of a population to meet needs, absorb shocks, and produce future capability — not the nominal value of transactions conducted.
Candidate components
- Productive capacity per capita
- Real access to food, water, energy, housing, health, and education
- Time available to participants after meeting needs
- Knowledge and capability stock
- Resilience to shock
- Distribution of the above
Status
This is research-stage. The Prosperity Function gives the current candidate formulation, and IIP-0004 tracks its development. No measurement here should be treated as validated.
