Mathematical Conventions
Notation, units, and the formula registry.
Accepted: Reviewed and adopted for the current release.
Notation
- Currency amounts are in a stated unit; ratios are dimensionless
- Subscript denotes a period; subscript a base period
- denotes an efficiency ratio
- Estimated quantities carry a confidence level; observed quantities do not
The formula registry
Each record contains an id, name, LaTeX, variables, assumptions, limitations, examples, the specification path, related proposals, a version, and a status:
{
id: "NVC",
name: "Net Value Created",
latex: "NVC = VP - VC + E - R",
specificationPath: "/spec/intelligent-currency/value-produced",
proposalIds: ["IIP-0003"],
version: "0.1.0",
status: "research"
}
Calculators import from the registry. A formula that exists only inside a component is a defect.
