Draftv0.1.0-alpha · revised 2026-08-01
Economic Foundations
Assumptions the economic model rests on.
Draft: Written but unreviewed. Content may change substantially.
Retained from market economics
- Private ownership
- Price signals
- Voluntary exchange
- Entrepreneurial discovery
- Return on productive risk
Rejected as necessary features
- That extraction and production must be rewarded identically
- That accumulated capital left idle is economically neutral
- That price is a sufficient record of a transaction's effect
- That negative externalities are adequately priced by default
Consequence
If price under-records a transaction's effect, then optimising for price optimises for the wrong target. Book IV (Intelligent Currency) is the proposed response.
